The Lord’s been showing me that the date 4/1/2020 is connected to Revelation 4:1, and that a door of invitation is opening to come up higher to new levels in Him!
Revelation 4:1 (NKJV) reads: “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.’”
Left Behind?
Recently a dear friend and team member contacted me to ask for help interpreting a dream, which he’d had after a period of fasting, worship and prayer. I felt the Lord showed me the revelation contained in the dream was not just for him, but had a much broader application for the body of Christ.
The dream opened as he walked out onto his porch, which faces north and east, and as he did he saw an object in the sky out of the corner of his left eye—about two or three times bigger and brighter than the moon. When he turned to look at the object straight on it seemed to disappear—possibly behind the horizon or a mountain. Just as he thought to himself, “Whoa, is this the Lord?” he heard four distinct trumpet blasts! Immediately he was struck with the fear of the Lord and a sense of profound unworthiness. Dropping to his knees he pled with the Lord for forgiveness and to not be left behind. He woke with a pounding heart and tears in his eyes, and with an overwhelming sense of being unprepared, full of sin and that he had in fact been left behind.
A Clarion Call
Since my friend is a strong believer who will surely be caught up in the air with the Lord at the trumpet blast, I knew the interpretation was not literal (1 Thess. 4:16-17, 5:1-11). Yet I did have a strong sense that the dream contained key revelation. As I sought the Lord, Revelation 4:1 came almost immediately to mind, and I also had a keen sense that the reference “4:1” correlated with the date 4/1/2020. Again, this verse says:
“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this’” (NKJV).
I sense several levels of interpretation, each of which applies to every believer in some way. The first is that the Lord is issuing a clear invitation, a trumpet blast, to come up higher—not to be raptured away, but to experience new levels that will be necessary to minister exploits in coming days. It’s a clarion call that beckons us to a higher realm of His presence and glory, which when answered, will release new levels of revelation and gifting—all for the purpose of harvest. To ignore the invitation, to some extent, means you’ll be “left behind”—not in regards to salvation but as to how significant a role you’ll play in the awakening that’s coming.
Look Up!
I had a powerful and somewhat similar vision in 2005. One night I saw a bright object in the eastern sky, much like the one my friend saw. Then I heard a voice say, “Look up, for your redemption draws nigh!” Luke 21:25-28 (NKJV) reads:
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity… men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Wow, sounds a lot like today, doesn’t it, with the coronavirus causing men’s hearts to fail from fear, and with the powers of heaven being shaken? We should indeed be looking up, for the day of our redemption is closer than we might believe (Rom. 13:11)!
Do the Work of an Evangelist
I see another level of interpretation as well. My friend is a strongly gifted evangelist and this dream gave him a powerful sense of what it might feel like to literally be left behind. The Lord has given me similar dreams, in the sense that He showed me what it felt like to be someone else, which has increased my compassion and effectiveness for ministry.
My friend is now ON FIRE to reach the lost, having experienced firsthand what they might go through. Friends, like Timothy, we should all be doing the work of an evangelist and ought to be fulfilling our God-given ministry (see 2 Tim. 4:5).
Come Sail Away
The night of the dream before he had fallen asleep, my friend had been listening to worship music. Inexplicably, the old Styx album, “The Grand Illusion,” and the song, “Come Sail Away With Me” popped up. Might there be a message in this? Much of the world lives under the grand illusion that a life apart from the Lord can bring happiness, and that the Day of the Lord is either fictitious or far in the distant future. As believers, we ourselves live under a grand illusion if we don’t understand the seriousness—even URGENCY—of our day.
My prayer is that we all experience afresh and anew the awe and fear of the Lord. Friends, I heard the Lord say, “Your city is ripe for revival.” Let’s not live under a grand illusion—it’s time to “sail away” into greater levels of intimacy with Him. Let’s respond to the invitation to come up higher—for the day of our redemption draws nigh!
