It is absolutely wrong for any faction, whether Antifa or any other, to hijack what should be a true movement protesting racial injustice in America, and to use it to promote their own agenda. Because that, friends, is exactly what’s happened, and it’s denial if you don’t think something’s wrong.
A Hijacking
No one can deny that what happened to George Floyd was abhorrent and an astounding occurrence of injustice. Without question, there has been legitimate cause for outrage from not just the black community, but also anyone with a functioning conscience. I daresay the death of this man could be qualified as a murder.
But the rapid descent from peaceful demonstrations and protests into the state of absolute mayhem many cities have experienced is a complete injustice as well. What happened to George Floyd was undeniably wrong, but it’s also wrong to loot and burn businesses, paint the overwhelming majority of good cops with the same brush as those responsible for his death, and to hijack a legitimate justice movement.
Yes, you heard that right. It is absolutely wrong for any faction, whether Antifa or any other, to hijack what should be a true movement protesting racial injustice in America, and to use it to promote their own agenda. Because that, friends, is exactly what’s happened, and it’s denial if you don’t think something’s wrong.
Pharisees and Wolves
It’s difficult to imagine how anyone with any degree of spiritual depth or maturity could remain unconcerned about current events. But concern is different than fear. Scripture shows that lawlessness will abound in the last days (Matt. 24:12; 2 Thess. 2:7). The mayhem in our streets is lawlessness to the extreme, and it’s not unspiritual to call things what they are. We just need to judge and discern rightly, as Jesus instructed us in John 7:24.
Jesus also warned us about wolves and the leaven of the Pharisees (Matt. 7:15; Luke 12:1). In both cases, whether Jesus was referring to false prophets who presented themselves as innocent when they were not, or the leaven of religious leaders who He identified as hypocrites, we’re talking about those who present themselves as something they are not—by misrepresenting what is true or genuine. In my mind those behind the hijacking of the true justice movement are much the same. In fact, you could say they represent—not the justice movement—but the pinnacle of the “wolf movement.”
The Militia Movement
Luke 22:35-38 is a significant passage. In this passage, Jesus was preparing His disciples for the coming events leading up to His death, and He said some very interesting things. Before His betrayal and arrest, he told them that a significant shift had taken place. Slightly paraphrased, He said, “Before, I sent you out without a money bag, knapsack or sandals, and you did not lack anything. But now I’m changing up the game. Now, take a money bag and a knapsack, and if you don’t have a sword, sell your garment and buy one.”
If you ask me, that is not a very politically correct statement coming from Jesus, and is worth taking a closer look at. Remember, it is the prophets who hear the moves of God within a particular time and season (Amos 3:7; Eph. 2:20, 3:5), and as a company, the prophets have declared we’ve shifted into a new era. When God begins to do a new thing, the strategy for the times must come from Him; what worked before will work no longer, and what was once effective in the past will not be enough. That’s why it’s currently so important to focus on intimacy and seeking His face; we will not find our strategy for this time in any other place (Heb. 1:1-2).
There is something else to notice from this passage. Jesus, in effect, was saying that in the previous season, the disciples did not need to practically prepare; God met all of their needs, regardless of their level of preparation. But, He told them, it’s different now. They were to be physically and practically prepared, as well as spiritually—even to the point of bearing arms.
Yes, friends, you heard it here first. It is not unscriptural to bear arms, and the recent militia movement has been a legitimate response in attempt to counter anarchy. The fact that many liberal factions are attempting to disarm the people and defund the police should be deeply concerning. Remember concern is not fear, and Jesus instructed us to discern wisely. In this instance, to properly discern should lead to concern.
Blessed are the Peacemakers
With every move of God, there’s a release of authority in order that the things God has ordained can be accomplished. Basically, authority entails having the power, position and resources to get something done. Of course, kingdom authority involves enforcing the laws of the kingdom, much like earthly authority involves enforcing the laws of the land.
It’s interesting that a person who’s vested with law enforcement authority—that is, anyone sworn, badged and armable for the primary duty of enforcement of the law—is often called a peace officer. A peace officer is someone who enforces the peace. Similarly, the single action revolver which was designed for the U.S. Calvary and most widely associated with the wild-west, was commonly called the peacemaker.
The inference is clear. Peace is found where peace is enforced. Peacemakers, whether earthly or spiritual, have little authority if they are unarmed and out of position (Eph. 6:10-18; Col. 3:1-2). Matthew 5:9 (NKJV) says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” A militia movement, when needed, is not unscriptural and is actually a practical outworking of a spiritual principle, as it is the God of peace who will crush Satan under our feet (Rom. 16:20).
You may not personally be called to bear arms or be part of this movement, but neither should you fear it. Instead, we ought to be concerned about those who would attempt to suspend, silence or squelch either this counter movement, or the second amendment. A peacekeeping force is required to keep peace.
The Year of the Mega
I recently heard the Lord say, “It’s the year of the ‘mega.’” Initially I regarded this as something to be developed in time into a word for the coming year—which will likely still happen—but my sense is a measure of this “mega” year has already been released upon us. Everything seems “supersized” or enhanced right now—whether because of covid-19 or the latest riots, events have exaggerated scope, substance and significance right now.
It is my belief that we are about to see the largest move of God’s Spirit that’s ever been seen—a “mega” move of God. It only makes sense that Satan’s not just going to stand idly by and let it happen. So while he’s not all seeing and all knowing like God is, he’s certainly not oblivious and will always try to circumvent what God is doing.
That’s where you come in. We all have different gifts and different roles. If you have a voice, use it for truth. If you’re called to practical action, do whatever He calls you to do. And each one of us can pray. For a mega move of God to happen, it takes mega men and woman of God who will usher in the movement with Him—the “dread champions.” YOU, my friend, are a dread champion! (See Jer. 20:11, NASB.)
Pray and Act
Several prayer points I’m suggesting were prefaced by dreams. The first one was given to my husband, in which President Trump turned to him and said, “Tell the people to pray for awakening.”
In the second dream, I too saw President Trump. However, he did not look quite the way he actually looks. He somehow looked more drawn, more tired, and more haggard. For some reason he stopped what he was doing and walked over to shake my hand. As I took hold of his hand I said, “I’m praying for you for supernatural strength.”
Here are some suggested prayer points:
- Pray for awakening in our nation, not just spiritual awakening but also political awakening. Pray for discernment, and that corruption will be exposed. Pray that people will be able to see things for what they really are, and not be afraid to say it like it really is.
- Pray for supernatural strength for President Trump. I believe the Lord showed me he is feeling far more strain than what he is admitting or outwardly showing.
- Ask the Lord how you can get practically involved. Vote. Support godly candidates. Consider running for office. Pray for the upcoming elections. Use your voice. Be a “peacemaker,” whether spiritually, practically, or both. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” As you enforce HIS peace, you will be blessed.
- Pray and mediate on Psalm 3. Many prophetic voices, myself included, have highlighted Psalm 91 lately. But more recently the Lord has emphasized Psalm 3 to me. It’s a Psalm of David when he fled from his son, Absalom, a Psalm of the Lord’s help for His concerned or troubled people. I invite you to pray it with me together over our nation, our president, our cities and our families:
“Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, ‘There is no help for him in God.’ Selah
But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; you have broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah” (NKJV)
Amen and amen!
