I sense God’s about to do a creative thing—much like when Satan overplayed his hand and Christ was crucified, only to rise again. I’ve seen this creative power like a whirlwind. As I write this it’s what some call Holy Week, or the week leading up to Christ’s resurrection. Perhaps a creative wind swirled that first Holy Week long ago, foreshadowing the resurrection life that was about to spring forth from the grave.
Here in Montana we’re getting ready for spring thaw. With snowpack totals above normal in all major river basins in the state for March 1 (and some measurement locations setting records for this date) spring’s warm breezes mean change is coming quickly in the form of runoff.[1] Snowpack measurements are useful indicators for flooding and help predict long-term moisture levels/water supply for the coming growing, recreational and forest fire seasons.
Similarly, in a spiritual sense change is coming quickly as the wind of change is blowing. As prophetic voices record and release what Holy Spirit is saying, these prophetic words bring definition—much like snowpack measurements do—useful as indicators. We might not know exactly what’s coming in the season ahead, but we can see the outline, or the shape, of things to come.
A Sifting
Some of what the Lord has spoken to me recently, while encouraging, is also somewhat sobering. He tells us what we need to hear sometimes—not always what we want to hear. It’s the type of word that can seem jarring at first, until you realize it’s for your own good.
One thing I’ve heard recently is “He’s making you skinny,” and “He has you on a reducing plan.” Of course the application here is spiritual – not literal – and while it’s not a sin to be overweight, He does want us to “shed” anything that might slow us down or be detrimental to our spiritual health in the upcoming season.
In a similar vein, I recently heard, “The Lord has been sifting you like wheat.” Scripture reveals Satan asked to sift Peter like wheat (Luke 22:31), but the Lord is the one doing the sifting here. Matthew 3:11-12 say:
“… He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor, gathering His wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
In other words, anything that’s holding you back in any way needs to go. But not to worry—it’s the Lord who’s doing this work in you.
As a personal example of the power inherent in this scripture, I used to suffer debilitating migraines. Then one day a dear prophetic friend gave me Matthew 3:11-12 and told me the Lord said these verses were for the migraines. Nothing changed concerning these headaches for six years.
Then I awoke one night to hear, “I’m burning the migraines off of you—you won’t have them anymore.” And sure enough, I’ve been migraine-free ever since. I’d done everything to that point I knew to do—prayed every prayer, received all kinds of ministry, repented of anything I could think of—and still they persisted. Until the Lord burned them off, much like the chaff from the wheat.
Friends, don’t resist the sifting the Lord is doing in you. He’s ridding you of things you’ve not been able to “shed” in previous seasons. Much like the chaff being burned from the wheat, it’s a Holy Ghost spring-cleaning!
We Could Use More Traffic Stops
That’s not to say there hasn’t been a demonic attack against the Lord’s faithful in recent weeks—there has. Some characteristics have been financial pressures, relational strains, health challenges, and disturbed sleep and dreams. But through it I sense God’s about to do a creative thing—much like when Satan overplayed his hand and Christ was crucified, only to rise again.
I’ve seen this creative power like a whirlwind. As I recently prayed into this, a whirlwind appeared on the road in front of me as I was driving. It had a small piece of paper in it that allowed me to track its movement! As I write this it’s what some call Holy Week, or the week leading up to Christ’s resurrection. Perhaps a creative wind swirled that first Holy Week long ago, foreshadowing the resurrection life that was about to spring forth from the grave.
Recently I felt the Lord said, “We could use more traffic stops.” This brought to mind an instance when someone wrote my husband and I a bad check for a significant amount—then skipped town. After we filed a police report, a warrant was put out for their arrest. But had it not been for a routine traffic stop, they would never have been apprehended.
Friends, I sense the Lord wants to “put out a warrant” for Satan’s arrest. Bring your petition before the courts of heaven, that documentation of what the enemy has stolen from you can go on record. Pray that angelic forces would “pull him over,” forcing him to repay what’s owed!
God is creating something new in this season. Ask Him to show you how the enemy’s overplayed his hand, and to bring creative recompense to you! (See Rom. 8:11; Isa. 62:11 ESV.)
A Glory Canopy
Sometimes a prophetic word pierces an opening in the heavens—much like the tip of a sword—allowing more revelation to come forth. We might need to trust the Lord’s ability to “fill in the blanks” where we lack understanding.
After prayerful consideration, I feel led to release that I’ve heard the Lord say, “I will avenge America.” That concerning America there has been a perception of greed and a perception of abuse—that it is time for redress. It isn’t just President Trump—the Lord has a plan to make America great again!
Again, I’m reminded that as I write this it’s Holy Week. Although Jesus prophesied His death and resurrection, even those closest to Him, the disciples, did not understand what was coming. An era of the demonstration of the gospel would commence that they could not conceive of beforehand. (See Luke 18:31-34; Mark 16:14-20.)
I sense a new era of glory coming for the demonstration of the kingdom that even those closest to Him have limited understanding of. I’ve heard the Lord say it’s going to be a glory canopy that will spread out over the earth. (See Rev. 11:15; Isa. 4:5.)
As we shift into this era, I believe this word concerning our nation will be activated. Be encouraged. I’ve also heard this shift signifies:
- It’s time to start displaying the mountains,
- A door has been accomplished, and
- It’s a year for the fully engaged crown.
Faithful ones, many of you already have knowledge of the cultural mountains, know we are in the year of the door, and realize that the crowning of your vav has occurred. (See Isa. 2:2, 22:22-24.)
Together let’s pray… “Lord, show us Your glory canopy that will spread out over the earth!” Amen.
